FAQ
What materials are used in these C245 soldering tips?
We use oxygen-free copper cores with electroplated iron (wear resistance), nickel (corrosion protection), and a stainless steel casing around the internal heater to reduce heat loss. The working surface receives additional electroplated alloys for improved solder wetting and durability.
Do you offer custom C245 tip shapes, outer diameters, or lengths?
Yes. As a custom soldering tip manufacturer, we can modify tip geometry (chisel, conical, bent, knife, hoof, gull-wing), outer diameter (from 4mm to 8mm), total length, or plating specifications. Provide a drawing, original sample, or intended application – our engineering team will advise. Custom orders require minimum quantity – contact our sales team.
What are the exact dimensions of this tip? Does it fit all JBC stations?
Outer diameter: 6.2mm. Total length: 98-100mm (slight variation by tip shape). Our C245 soldering tip is compatible with JBC stations that accept standard C245 cartridges, including JBC Compact, Professional, and DDE series (e.g., T245 handles). The stainless steel casing matches original C245 dimensions for a secure fit.
How does service life compare to original JBC C245 tips?
Under identical soldering conditions (350°C, continuous use on lead-free solder with proper maintenance), our tips deliver comparable or longer life – typically 15,000 to 25,000 solder joints depending on tip shape, solder type, and daily usage. The stainless steel casing also contributes to longer heater life. We recommend a side-by-side trial on your production line to verify performance.
How should we maintain these tips for maximum life?
Keep the tip tinned when the soldering iron is idle (use station sleep mode if available)
Clean with brass wire or a damp sponge – avoid abrasive files or tip cleaners
Use only compatible solders and fluxes (aggressive halide fluxes reduce tip life)
Replace immediately if the tip becomes pitted, deformed, or cannot wet properly
Store unused tips in a dry, anti-static container to prevent oxidation
For automated soldering lines, schedule regular automatic tip cleaning cycles
The stainless steel casing does not require special maintenance – simply keep free of solder splashes
We supply detailed maintenance guides with bulk orders. For high-volume production, we also offer custom packaging for automated tip changers.
